Hundreds Of Buttons
Liz from Hundreds of Buttons makes button bouquets and some fantastic button jewellery including necklaces and bracelets.
She has recently been testing a do it yourself button bracelet kit that she plans to sell, and I was lucky enough to be picked to trial one of the kits for her.
Although I love buttons I've never been keen on the jewellery side but this bracelet turned out beautifully, heaps better than I thought and was easy to make once I got the hang of the knots. These are the buttons Liz sent for me in the kit and I love the colour combination included and mix of flowers.... you know me and flowers!!!!!
I LOVE IT!!
My daughter was lucky to get a kit to trial as well, but I need a bomb under her to get anything done at the moment, so fingers crossed she might give it a go this weekend. She loves crafts but is a bit over the "button thing" at the moment.
Go check out Liz's Blog or Etsy store for more great button jewellery. Thanks Liz.
As I was cutting back my hydrangeas tonight I was thinking how wilted and lacking water they were in the Summer. Now still without rain they are coping with the cooler weather. Our extremes in temperature are hard to believe sometimes over 44 degrees C in the Summer and down too minus 5 degrees C in the Winter nights. Well we made it through another scary bushfire season, the fire season is officially over, although it is still very dry.The year before last we had a huge control burn off in our front paddocks, the CFA did a marvelous job containing it I think we melted a few country letter boxes but no other damage. We felt safer this year having our Northern front paddocks clearer.
I know I have been slack on here lately, it's always the same off to a flying start then slack off again. Usually it happens when I get lost in my jungle of a garden, My husband thinks I could disappear for days out there. And as the shadows are getting longer, I feel my time is running out, with more and more garden jobs needing to be done. Anyone need a hand in the garden, my helper (note the nose)has had enough for today, but I'm sure she'll be ready for some more tomorrow. Coming soon to Etsy, Shabby Fabric Bunting I made these ages ago and my friend has talked me into selling some, she has been waiting eagerly on the sideline for my first release. These felt flowers were a custom order that I made, notice the garden theme rules my craft work as well. I liked these a lot and will be making more soon, maybe some single flowers to hang on the wall with matching 3D bouquets for a instant room makeover. This week I got a Christmas order for 3 bouquets, who would have thought people would be thinking of Xmas already, I was so busy at the end of last year, this lady told me she is getting in early. I hope she loves them.
I'm going to miss my garden, I always feel sad over winter. Everything shuts down the trees drop their leaves the birds hide from the cold, only the brave venture out on these frosty mornings. Don't get me wrong I spend just as much time in the garden as usual (which is way more than reasonable) I head out after breky to feed the chooks and let the lone goose out (the fox got his partner :( ) and next thing I know it is lunch time and the only thing stopping me then is my 2 year old complaining about too many jobs!
These gorgeous items are from Felt food Creations. They are all hand sewn by Australian Etsy store owner Kathleen. To see more of Kathleen's great work check out her shop. FeltFoodCreations.etsy.com I especially love the rose cupcakes and pink cookies.
This is pineapple sage, great for Autumn colour, this is about 6 foot high and the same wide. it makes a spectacular display in our entrance. As the weather winds down it is great to see the colour on our way in and out the gate.
New buttons on Etsy. I'm selling some unused vintage buttons on Etsy which I purchased from a fashion designer in Melbourne who imported them from France.
My Name is PixieDoes this dress make me look fat? I'll have to cut back on the birthday cake.
It's getting colder and my plans for winter crafts are changing, the quilts are coming out,
UFO's that need finishing, anything that is inside and warm.
I always get an itch to do some crochet, I'm no good at knitting, I'm planning to make a free form scarf for ME! this year
I'm loving this Autumn weather, cool crisp mornings turning into beautiful sunny days, and snugly warm nights.
The first frost, it's always a surprise. Although I gave up many years ago trying to grow frost sensitive plants here. We usually get at least one decent snowfall each year.
