Mirabel My Bunny

This is my first year contributing to the Mirabel Foundation
I made a cute rabbit for someone to love for Christmas
I originally heard about Mirabel from  Pip  "Meet me at Mikes"
I always have good intentions but never get around to doing anything about it, so I decided to make one this year and get an early start on next years (fingers crossed)

Pin cushion

My new pincushion whipped up quickly yesterday, after some long winded blanket hooky, I need a few small projects. I have a cushion WIP also hopefully get that finished over the weekend.

Cleaning up

New custom bunting
Pixie helping to mulch
It's been beautiful weather here, although our water tanks are getting a bit low. We have been enjoying lots of outside time cleaning up our front paddock. The robins love it when we rake the leaves up and expose the soil, so hard to get a good photo of them though. We had dozens flitting around last weekend.

International yarn bombing day

and a visit from "Sticky" not sure if he is waving or frozen to the verandah roof.

First frost and cute birds

We had our first proper frost for the year this morning, imagine how cold this water would be to wash in, they looked like they were having so much fun though

Mothers Day and getting ready for Winter

I made some crochet Queen Anne lace scarves for the girls these took a couple of nights to make, very quick and fun to make
We enjoyed a nice quiet Mothers day, with a hectic lead up, we all needed a break. we spent the day at the Tylden school fair on Saturday, always a big day out for the youngest. A book from the girls to go with the matching Nature notes Diary, beautiful drawings of flowers and nature.
Lots of home made craftiness

second week of the holidays

we got decorating for Easter
we went on a picnic and enjoyed the beautiful Daylesford botanical gardens
more Easter crafts, the bunny family inspiration here
we had a lovely day at the beach
and lots more messy crafts... why do kids enjoy the messy ones?

First week of the holidays

we saw a cute mobile home
went for a wander along the local creek
did lots of crafty activities
Went to a fairy party

we did lots of drop offs and pick ups from friends houses, sleepovers in tents in each others rooms, lots of PJ days

bird decorations

I have been collecting all my yarn ends and was planning to put some out for the birds come spring time. This is a great way to keep them all together and look cute too!

Another poncho and lots of apples

Apples from our orchard of old apple varieties
This one is off a tree called "20 ounce" an old fashion variety, it weighed 500g and won first prize at the Macedon Autumn flower show on the weekend.
We also got Aggregate in the perennial section, and first and seconds in the fruit, rose, herbs and Autumn Harvest sections.
Custom "Charlie " bunting for a new baby

Museum open night

Last night I attended the opening of the button exhibit by Sandra Collard at the Kyneton museum, lots of wonderful buttons and I can't wait to check out her shop in Castlemaine "Habadash"
But the most exciting part is 25 of my bouquets are being featured as well for the next 3 months.
So my shop is looking a little dismal, I will be working to stock that back up again.
But I also wanted to let you all know that they have 2 huge button sales on at the museum in the next few months, I think the first is on the 19th of March and another in May.
Anyway the button exhibit is beautiful too! worth taking a look if you are in the area

Kyneton Museum Button Exhibit

I have been invited to the opening of this local exhibit and will have some of Sunweeds Button Bouquets featured there until June YAY!

Around here

My garden is growing wildThe view from the bathroom window, the kiwi fruit vine taking over the garage
Broken mower
resulting in out of control grass
and probably way too much crochet happening. This is the first item of clothing I have ever made and am pleased how it turned out. I now have an order from miss 11, and 3 teddy / doll ones to match
